PRICING INFORMATION
There are many different variables that go into determining the cost of Scalp Micropigmentation. The size of the area that requires treatment is the biggest factor. The Norwood Scale is used to determine the amount of hair loss for men. The Savin Scale is used for women.
The Norwood Scale
The Norwood Scale is used to measure and categorize the different stages of male pattern baldness. Professionals use this scale to distinguish hair loss between clients.
For men, hair loss usually begins at the hairline, causing the hairline to recede. Then it moves toward the temple and crown, causing the hair to thin or totally bald. At its most advanced stage, the crown is left totally bald leaving some hair on the back and sides creating a “horse shoe” effect around the scalp.
Pricing for Scalp Micropigmentation is determined by the amount of hair loss. The more hair loss, the longer it takes to complete the SMP, the higher the price.
At Ink Tricks SMP, pricing starts around $300.00 for scars and Norwood Two and goes up to around $2000.00 for Norwood Seven. However, each client is given unique pricing to match their hair loss situation.
The Savin Scale for Women
The Savin Scale is a system used to determine the extent of female pattern thinning and baldness. Female hair loss begins with thinning on the top of the head, in the central parting area. As the thinning increases, more scalp begins to show. Many women have some form of hair loss though it isn’t a subject that is often discussed.
Scalp Micropigmentation can help disguise the thinning areas. The pigment used is determined by the client’s hair colour and skin tone.
The cost for SMP for female thinning starts at $600.00 for stage 1 and can go up to $2500.00 for stage 2. The cost is related to the amount of treatment required and the time it takes to complete. SMP can take longer on a female because it is more difficult to work on a scalp that has hair, which increases the time required to complete the treatment.
